We would like to congratulate everyone that completed the new Jobskilla computer course at Collyhurst, that came to an end last week! It was a great success and the feedback that we received from those involved was incredible. The course was aimed at anyone looking to improve their IT skills, and gain the confidence and skills to get online. Participants that successfully completed the course received a nationally recognized I.T qualification and a free laptop of their own! We’re hoping to run the course again in the near future so please get in touch if you’d like to get involved.
Our good friends at the Lalley Centre Allotments are having an open day on Saturday 14th July! There will be a variety of stalls and activities taking place for people of all ages, so why not get down and celebrate this great community space from 12pm till 3pm this Saturday!
A big thank you…
We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our partners and sponsors for helping us to bring the new Collyhurst centre to life.
A special mention goes to Tony Hennon from Places for People, and Lindsay Ogden from the Jigsaw Homes group who came to see us earlier this week.
Both of these organisations are renowned for their fantastic regeneration and housing work, helping to create stronger communities through improved local services and quality homes. You can find out more about their organisations from the links below.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to Mears & Manchester Working Ltd for the refurbishment of the new premises, and for turning our vision into reality! This project would not have been possible without their help. It was also great to have some former yes clients back with us doing the PAT testing, in their new roles of apprentices! well done guys!

A warm welcome
On Monday we opened our doors and welcomed visitors into the new centre. It was lovely to meet our first guest Sharon, who was pleased to see something new and exciting happening in the area. She even asked about volunteering with us, our answer was a resounding YES! We would like to thank everybody that has called in to see us so far for giving us a warm welcome to the neighborhood.

On Tuesday we were visited by Ray & Marie from the South Collyhurst Tenants and Residents group, who shared with us their thoughts, views and experiences of the local area. It was great to speak to them and learn that many people are delighted to see the regeneration of Southchurch Parade, and are excited by the facilities and support coming to the area.
