Description

About the role
The Community Grocer Volunteer role is a vital role as it ensures the community shop can run smoothly. The Community Grocers are once a week shops in community centres where members can access low cost food, toiletries, and household items whilst also having the opportunity to access different types of support, meet others, and engage in their community.

The main aim of the role is to ensure the members have a positive experience when shopping with us.

Community Grocer Volunteers help to provide an essential service to our members by supporting them in different ways, including helping to create a warm and welcoming environment, supporting members with shopping, and signposting members to support services amongst other things. Support with getting unpacking deliveries and displaying the stock is also needed to prepare for the shop in advance.

The role will suit someone who has good interpersonal skills, enjoys chatting with people, is a good listener and enjoys working in a team.
