All participants will be provided with health & safety training in respect of COVID prior to starting their placement on site and will be expected to comply with government guidelines.
Travel expenses covered up to a maximum of £5 per day.
A Site Manager within the construction industry is responsible for overseeing operations of the whole site on a day-to-day basis and that a project comes in on time and in budget. Site Managers are also responsible for taking on staff and preparing the site, including installing temporary offices and facilities before construction work starts. During the construction of a project a Site Managers role will be to monitor the progress and report back to the client or client’s representatives, ensure the safety of the team and site workers and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
This placement opportunity is to work alongside the Site Manager and provide assistant where possible. Here is a list of potential duties
• Maintaining quality control procedures
• Ensuring site safety by making safety inspections
• Problem solving
• Sourcing materials
• Monitoring progress of the project
• Filing orders/invoices related to the build
All appropriate PPE will be provided by the placement host.
To have a CSCS card (we can support with this if you don’t have one). To have your own steel toe cap boots (can be supplied these if you don’t have these). Work as part of a team. Have a ‘can do’ attitude. Has good timekeeping skills. Able to use your own initiative and be proactive. Has a passion for the construction industry.
