Plasterers Mate
Start Date: Mid -Late January 2021
Duration: 6-8 weeks
Days: 2 days per week, Monday -Friday
Hours: 8am – 4:30pm
Location: Openshaw
Job Description:
This construction company realises that a home is for a lifetime and to improve and enhance an area it must be built to the highest of standards, be of the perfect design and meet the most exacting of requirements.
The main role of a plasterer is to paste layers of plaster onto walls, floors and ceilings. Plastering serves a protective function, in that it makes buildings more robust, and an aesthetic function. Plasterers work on a number of different buildings, including new housing developments, offices and houses (redecorations or extensions). They repair or restore existing plasterwork and plaster newly erected walls.
You must be someone that can work hard and willing to learn the trade. Be productive and get suck in. It would be desirable if you had a level 2 or higher qualification in plastering.
All appropriate PPE will be provided by the placement host.
You must have a valid CSCS card
Requirements
- To have a CSCS card (we can support with this if you don’t have one)
- You must have a plastering related qualification
- To have your own steel toe cap boots we can supply these if you don’t have any)
- Participant will be provided with health & safety training in respect of COVID prior to starting their placement on site and will be expected to comply with government guidelines.
- Work as part of a team
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude
- Be physically fit
- Has good timekeeping
- Able to use your own initiative and be proactive
- Has a passion for constructions industry
Electrical Mate
Start Date: Mid-Late January
Duration: 6-8 weeks
Days: 2 days per week Monday-Friday
Hours: 8am – 4:30pm
Location: Openshaw
This construction company realises that a home is for a lifetime and to improve and enhance an area it must be built to the highest of standards, be of the perfect design and meet the most exacting of requirements.
As an electricians mate you would cover all aspects of the job starting off with carrying out the first fix which includes chasing out channels for conduit to be ran, pulling cables through joists and underneath floor boards.
You must be someone that can work hard and willing to learn the trade. Be proactive and get stuck in.
All appropriate PPE will be provided by the placement host.

This opportunity will be working alongside a company that is sub contracted by Watson Homes.
Responsibilities will include any of the following: assisting in day-to-day plumbing and drainage such as installations, maintaining, and repairing pipes and fixtures associated with heating, cooling, water distribution, and sanitation systems in residential structures. Fixes domestic appliances, such as dishwashers and gas cookers. Inspects drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local and national regulations
